Important information for Windows XP Users.
If you last bought a PC between 2009
and 2013 it probably came with Windows 7. Microsoft ended
support for Windows 7 in February 2020. You can no longer
upgrade for free to Windows 10 so a new PC is probably the way
forward. Windows 10 is now on
borrowed time, and support ends in October 2025.

If you just use your PC for browsing the internet and email then
migrating to Linux would give your PC a new lease of life.
So long as you don't need iTunes, Office or other Windows only
software this will be
much cheaper than buying a new PC. Gideon-IT can move all your
data from Windows to Linux.
Please contact Gideon-IT
to discuss how to do this and the best way to ensure your PC
will continue to work for many more years.
If you last bought a PC between 2013
and 2015 it probably came with Windows 8 or 8.1. Microsoft ended
support for Windows 8 in January 2016 and Windows 8.1 support
ended in January 2023 . You can no longer
upgrade either directly to Windows 10 for free. It's unlikely
your PC meets the demanding hardware specifications required by
Windows 11 so again either a new PC or a move to Linux would
seem the best way forward..
Please contact Gideon-IT
to discuss how to do this and the best way to ensure your PC
remains safe to use online.
